Mr. Van Uffelen was born and raised in Holland, MI. He graduated from Heritage Christian School in 1993, from Covenant Christian High School in 1996, from Grand Valley State University in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in English, and from Calvin College in 2016 with a master's degree in education..
In the spring of 2001, Dan moved to South Holland, IL in order to teach at Heritage Christian High School for its very first year of operation. For ten years he taught church history, literature, grammar, and drawing courses. In 2011 he accepted a teaching position at Covenant Christian High School, where his current teaching assignment includes Church History I and Church History II.
Dan and his wife, Kate (Engelsma), have been blessed with nine children: Jakob, Emma, Dirk, Ruby, Hazel, Lucy, Isaak, Greta and Dena. They are members of Hope Protestant Reformed Church in Walker, MI.
