Mr. DeVries grew up in Randolph, WI and attended Central Wisconsin Christian High School in Waupun. He graduated from Dordt College in 1989 with a B.A. in Education and began teaching the 1989/1990 school year at Mount Vernon Christian High School, in the
state of Washington. He taught for six years
there and then moved to Michigan. In Michigan
he took up teaching at Adams Christian School
in Wyoming, (formerly Grand Rapids). He taught there for two years at both the third grade and
fifth grade levels.

Mr. DeVries started teaching at Covenant Christian in the 1997/1998 school year and teaches Modern World History, Advanced Modern World History, and Government.

Mr. DeVries received his Master's in Educational Technology from Western Michigan University in 2008.

Mr. DeVries is also the Assistant Principal and Technology Director.

Mr. DeVries is married, and he and his wife Marianne have eight children, Derrick, Caitlyn, Megan, Claire, Avery, Jenna, Sara and Broderick.

Mr. DeVries and his family attend Hope Protestant Reformed Church in Walker, Michigan.
